Updates

So, haven't posted in a while. It's been a mix of exhaustion, business, and sheer laziness. I also have become obsessed with facebook - damn you facebook. So here's a brief up date on what's been going on lately.

As almost everyone knows, Gene got a new job as the head webmaster at KCWI TV in Ankeny. He LOVES his new job and all his coworkers. He doesn't even mind living with my mother. In fact, the only thing he doesn't enjoy is the two hour commute home on weekends, which I don't enjoy either.

As for me, I had originally planned to take a night class at Iowa State again, but it was waaay too much stress on me without Gene around. I couldn't teach, direct the play, take care of the house and Andy, do the reading and course work, look for a new job and a new house, and not have a mental and physical breakdown. In the middle of this Gene had an emergency appendecomy, but he is recovering very nicely. So I dropped the class and have focued on finding a new job.

On that note, I applied to Johnston, Ankeny, and Dallas-Center Grimes, and interviewed at Ankeny and Johnston on this last Wednesday. Well, I received a call from the principal at Johnston on the following day, which I returned on Friday. I was offered a teaching position literally the day after I interviewed with them! So I will be teaching language arts at Johnson High School next fall. I'm not sure what courses I'll be specifically teaching, because they still have two other positions open. They haven't even interviewed enough people to fill the position, but they wanted me enough to offer me $34,500 with other benefits. They also provide a $600 a year tuition reinbursement to help me get my masters, so that makes Grandpa happy.

So we're going to start looking for houses in the DSM area in a month or so. I need to get some kind of contract so we can approved for a loan...oh the joy of mortgages.

Well, I am going to stop for now. Our DVD player has died and we want to watch a movie since we are iced in here in Northern Iowa due to the massive winter storm chugging through. I hope everyone is in good spirits and doing well. Love you!

9. Do load of whites
10. Empty dishwasher and reload

2. Write up extra lesson for College Writing
3. Write up peer revision/editing feedback form for definition essay for College Writing
4. Do load of darks
5. Run dishwasher
6. Go to Curves
7. Write vocab quiz for AP
8. Send in writing rubric to free print
9. Write up sub plan for Thursday
10. Fill out medical history for Thursday
11. Go to appointment on Thursday
12. Go to chiropractor on Friday
13. Decide whether to do a paper or multiple choice test for Native Son
14. Write whatever I decide to do
