Updates and a small rant on book prices

Okay, so it's been almost a month since I last blogged...and nothing important or even stimulating has really happened. Lots of little irratations, but by the time I got back to my comptuerto whine about them, they didn't seem so important anymore. Basically since my Grad class finished I've just been doing a whole lot of sewing and not much else. We've been visiting everyone everywhere all summer, so it was kinda nice to have a week or two when I didn't have to do anything.

I did go down to Des Moines this past week to do yet more sewing with my mother, and on the way back stopped in Ames to buy my books for the fall Grad class I'm taking. Here is where my rant will begin. Well there were 13 books - 13 - for one class. One Grad class - damn early American literature. I didn't even know there was that much written in or about American between the Puritans and the Civil War! I thought we were busy rebeling and colonizing and killing off the Native Americans and crap. So I dropped $130 for one class. I realise I really shouldn't be complaining since one Grad level science textbook probably costs $130, but I still feel ripped off.

Otherwise - that's about it. I'm going to start getting ready for school soon, and that will be a whole heap-o-fun, so I'll probably blog more about that when it happens. Otherwise - it's time for supper - grilled shark steaks :) ummmmm.
